Calatrava Collects 208 Sacks of Waste in Zero Waste Month Drive
A total of 208 sacks or 2,748 kilograms of non-biodegradable waste and 10 kilograms of biodegradable waste were collected during a clean-up activity in Brgy. Suba, Calatrava, in celebration of Zero Waste Month this January.
The activity was spearheaded by the Local Government Unit of Calatrava under the leadership of Mayor Marilyn Era, with the support of SWM Focal Person Jerson H. Amparo and ENRO Designate Carmelo Cabataña, in partnership with DILG, Brgy. Suba Council led by Punong Barangay Lyndon Sotes, KaSE, PEMO, Suba Mangrove Growers Association, Civil Society Organizations, TSPS and dedicated community volunteers.
By taking part in this initiative, participants showed their shared commitment to changing behavior towards improper waste disposal and ensuring that waste does not end up in rivers and oceans. The collective effort highlights the community’s responsibility to protect the environment and promote sustainable waste management.
