The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental, through the Provincial Environment Management Office (PEMO), turned over a ₱1,316,800 cheque to Central Philippines State University (CPSU) to support the development and maintenance of the Project TANOM site.
Following the turnover, a total of 1,500 Philippine native and fruit tree seedlings were planted at CPSU-Kabankalan as part of the implementation of Project TANOM (Tanom Aksyon Negros Occidental on Mission), one of the key activities of the 34th Provincial Environment Month celebration.
The activity brought together representatives from HRMO, OPA, PHO, Provincial Accounting Office, Provincial Veterinary Office, Budget Office, NOMPAI, NICE, the Philippine Army, PEMO, PMD, RSD and OSS in a shared effort to advance reforestation and environmental conservation initiatives in Negros Occidental.
Project TANOM continues to strengthen collaboration among government offices, academic institutions, people’s organizations, and environmental partners in promoting tree-growing and ecosystem restoration across the province.
Each tree planted today is a step toward a greener and more resilient Negros Occidental.
